Shelves are more than mere storage surfaces – they create order and structure whilst offering space for expression. At Zeitwerk Home, you will find selected shelves from various eras of the 20th century, including original Bauhaus designs, rare Mid-Century models or individually crafted Art Deco objects.
Whether wall-mounted, freestanding or as a delicate room divider – our shelves are functional design objects that make an impact both architecturally and aesthetically. Many of the pieces originate from Czechia or France, crafted from steel tube, veneered wood or solid materials, often combined with typical details such as nickel-plated runners, open constructions or asymmetrical lines.
An iconic example: the modular Bauhaus shelf after Marcel Breuer – with its clear form a symbol of functional design. Mid-Century wall shelves with a floating lightness or narrow Art Deco bookshelves with finely crafted inlays are equally sought after.
In our Berlin workshop, we also create re-editions and one-off pieces – precisely tailored to your spatial and aesthetic requirements. Dimensions, materials and finishes can be individually adjusted.
A shelf is never just a shelf. It carries books, objects, memories – and brings design history into your everyday life. Those seeking furniture with substance and attitude will find what they are looking for with us. Our shelves are not a fleeting solution, but long-term companions that convince with clarity and character.
