Chests of drawers are among the most versatile pieces of furniture. Whether in the bedroom, hallway or living room – they offer storage without being intrusive, and can be clearly positioned stylistically. Our chests of drawers come from various eras of the 20th century: rationally constructed in the Bauhaus style, geometric and decorative in Art Deco, or restrained and elegant in Mid-Century design.
Many pieces are originals – carefully restored, newly sealed or fitted with modern internal structures. Others we make in our workshop in Berlin – as re-editions based on historical models or as individual new designs, tailored to the space and needs.
Typical materials are oiled solid wood, veneered surfaces, linoleum panels, chrome-plated steel tube or hand-polished lacquered surfaces. Our chests of drawers feature classic drawers, partly with hidden runners, handle-less fronts or sliding elements.
What unites them is the combination of clear function with an awareness of form – a principle that is palpable in every piece. Chests of drawers from Zeitwerk Home stand for furniture with substance, which fits into the room without denying its origins.
