This Bauhaus desk from the 1930s has a black lacquered top on a chrome-plated steel tube frame, of the kind Czech furniture production brought forth in that period. The tube is bent in wide arcs and runs at the side in a loop beneath the drawer unit. Wood and chrome stand in clear contrast: the lacquered surfaces in black and red have a deep gloss, while the chrome looks cool and restrained.

On the left sits a black block with two drawers, on the right beneath the top a red drawer, plus a red shelf for books or papers. All drawers have locks and chrome-plated handles. With a width of 110 cm, a depth of 62 cm and a height of 76 cm, the table offers enough surface for focused work while remaining light in the room. Anyone looking for a Bauhaus desk for the study or an Altbau apartment will find a piece with clear structure and distinct colour here. The condition is excellent.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design. Contact us for your individual requests, preferably directly via the chat at the bottom right.
