This Kaiser Idell desk lamp 6632 Präsident is one of the best known Bauhaus lamps and carries the characteristic dome shaped shade with the mounted articulated head. The shade is lacquered a deep black with a high gloss, and the light is gathered within it and thrown downwards without glare. Arm and base are made of chrome-plated steel, and the grip on the arm is finished in black, so the lamp can be adjusted even while switched on. The ball joint at the base allows the cone of light to be swivelled across the full width of the desk. At 48 cm high with a shade diameter of 30 cm, the desk lamp is designed for a workplace where people read and write, not for decorative mood lighting. It sits as rightly on a secretary desk in an old building as on a modern desk. Christian Dell shaped the design language of this series, and the Präsident variant is the largest and calmest of them.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design. Contact us for your individual requests, preferably directly via the chat at the bottom right.
