This Art Deco table lamp by Mazda from the 1930s combines a chalice-shaped shade in white opal glass with a tapering stem in natural wood. The grain stays visible under the clear lacquer and runs through the full length of the stem, giving the table lamp a warm, light presence. Fitting, intermediate plate and base ring are chrome-plated metal and set a cool accent against the wood. The pull switch on its chain hangs directly beneath the glass chalice. The opal glass throws the light upwards against the ceiling, producing soft indirect lighting that nobody looks into. At 77 cm high with a shade diameter of 26 cm, one of these vintage table lamps is enough to light a seating corner or a sideboard. In period flats with high ceilings the upward light comes into its own. Mazda lights of this construction come from French production and are sought after with the opal glass intact.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design. Contact us for your individual requests, preferably directly via the chat at the bottom right.
