This cantilever office chair by Drabert combines the springy tubular steel frame of classic modernism with black leather upholstery. The frame is made of chrome-plated steel tube bent in a single piece and carries the seat and backrest without rear legs, so the chair gives slightly under load. Seat cushion and back pad are generously filled and covered in leather that has softened over decades of use and taken on an even, dark patina. The armrests are made of black stained wood, hand-polished with shellac, and feel pleasantly warm to the touch. With a width of 56 cm, a depth of 60 cm and a seat height of 46 cm, the office chair is designed for daily desk work, but works equally well as a side chair in the living room or as a seat at the dining table. Drabert built seating for offices and administration in Minden for decades, and the workmanship of this chair shows why these pieces are sought after.
