This Bauhaus cantilever chair by Mart Stam from the 1930s has a factory fresh lacquer finish in RAL 6019 White Green, a cool pistachio green that forms a precise contrast with the chrome plated steel tube frame. Mart Stam developed the cantilever concept further in 1926: no rear leg, but a continuous bent steel tube whose elasticity provides the springing. Seat and backrest are made of moulded beech plywood, which gives the Bauhaus chair its clear seat geometry. The steel tube frame is chrome plated and in very good condition. Production took place in Czechoslovakia, where several manufacturers made the cantilever chairs for the European market from the early 1930s, in close association with Thonet. With a seat height of 45 cm and an overall height of 82 cm, this 1930s chair suits the dining room or the desk. Placed in a living room or study, it takes on a formal role as a Bauhaus chair without effort. Whoever prefers a different colour scheme can choose from the available stock of unrestored chairs and specify the colour individually.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.
