This French Art Deco side cabinet has a walnut veneer front whose mirrored grain builds across the entire door and meets in the middle to form a symmetrical pattern. The sides and top are stained black and hand-polished with shellac, creating a deep, slightly reflective surface that can only be achieved with this technique. The chrome-plated steel tube frame runs vertically up the front edges and closes at the bottom in a runner that lifts the carcase off the floor. The door is hinged on the right. At 47 cm wide and only 25.5 cm deep, with a height of 109.5 cm, the side cabinet fits into a niche, beside a door or in the hallway, where it provides storage without narrowing the passage. Behind the door are shelves for glasses, books or office supplies. The piece is restored and in excellent condition, veneer and shellac polish are intact throughout.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design. Contact us for your individual requests, preferably directly via the chat at the bottom right.
