This Bauhaus chair after the design by Mart Stam dates from the 1930s and combines a chrome-plated steel tube frame with a seat and backrest of moulded beech plywood. Both wooden shells are finished in a glossy light blue lacquer, fixed with visible rivets, and set a fresh accent of colour against the cool shine of the chrome. As a classic cantilever chair, it rests on a single bent tubular loop that gives it a light, almost floating profile. With a width of 39 cm and a seat height of 45 cm, the Bauhaus cantilever chair suits a dining table just as well as a desk in the study. The sprung frame provides pleasant seating comfort for everyday use. In period apartments the 1930s steel tube chair forms a clear counterpoint, whilst in modern interiors it blends in quietly. Made in the Czech Republic, the frame shows a light patina, whilst the lacquer is in excellent condition.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design. Contact us for your individual requests, preferably directly via the chat at the bottom right.
