This Biedermeier chair from the 1840s is made of solid mahogany and has a hand-polished shellac finish. The wood shows a lively grain in deep reddish brown, most clearly visible on the seat frame and backrest. Backrest and seat are covered with Viennese cane webbing, which gives the chair an airy lightness and a pleasantly springy feel. The curved backrest with its arched top and the outward-sweeping sabre legs give this Biedermeier chair a calm, clearly drawn line. With a width of 47 cm, a depth of 45 cm and a seat height of 45 cm at an overall height of 95 cm, it fits easily into small rooms. As a dining chair at the table, as a desk chair or as seating in the hallway, it suits period apartments just as well as modern interiors. Made in Germany, the chair is in very good condition.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design. Contact us for your individual requests, preferably directly via the chat at the bottom right.
