This 1930s Bauhaus side table comes from Czechoslovak production and follows the design language that Czech licensed makers such as Halabala and Slezak shaped in that decade. The frame is made of chrome-plated steel tube, bent into splayed, outward-curving legs on black rubber glides. Two round wooden shelves are stained black and show clearly visible ash grain.

The upper top is larger than the lower shelf, which gives the piece its characteristic proportions. Chrome-plated steel tube and dark stained wood create a contrast of materials that belongs to the Bauhaus aesthetic of the early 1930s. Black rubber glides protect the floor.

As a 1930s side table, the piece has two tiers and is as useful as a surface beside the sofa as it is as an occasional piece in a study. With a diameter of approx. 70 cm it has a presence in surface area without taking up much space. In a Berlin period apartment, the chrome steel tube side table pairs with other Bauhaus furniture of the era as well as with contemporary mixed interiors. No manufacturer attribution available.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design. Contact us for your individual requests, preferably directly via the chat at the bottom right.
