This Bauhaus cantilever chair by Mart Stam from the 1930s shows the design language that shaped Czechoslovak furniture production of that decade. The seat and backrest are made of moulded beech plywood, high-gloss lacquered in RAL 5014 Pigeon Blue. The chrome-plated steel tube frame traces the characteristic cantilever curve and creates a slightly springy seating position. The smooth lacquer surface reflects the light and gives the chair a cool, graphic presence. Mart Stam's design was produced in large numbers by various manufacturers in the 1930s. This example is finished in Pigeon Blue. Other colour variants are available on request. With a seat width of 39 cm, a depth of 50 cm and an overall height of 82 cm at a seat height of 45 cm, this Bauhaus chair suits the dining table, the study or as an accent chair in the living area. The piece comes from the Czech Republic and is in excellent condition.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design. Contact us for your individual requests, preferably directly via the chat at the bottom right.
