This Neoclassical library cabinet from the early 19th century displays the characteristic French style of the Restoration period: mahogany veneer on an oak substrate, with band inlays and brass mouldings as decorative articulation. The two glass doors reveal four adjustable shelves, which can be used flexibly for books, porcelain or collection objects. The surface of the mahogany veneer is warm and deep in tone.

As a Neoclassical bookcase, the library cabinet is slenderly proportioned with 86 cm width and 162 cm height, allowing it to be placed in rooms where a wide piece of furniture would fill the space too strongly. The white marble slab on the top surface gives the piece a cool counterweight to the warm mahogany surface. Turned feet with brass collars establish the connection to the floor.

Preserved in excellent condition. In the entrance hall, salon or study of a Berlin old-building apartment, this French library cabinet fits in naturally. Neoclassical furniture of this quality is rare on the market as original pieces from the early 19th century.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design. Contact us for your individual requests, preferably directly via the chat at the bottom right.
