This neoclassical cherry wood chest of drawers was made in France around 1800 and displays the clear formal language of Louis Seize. The cherry veneer is hand polished with shellac, bringing the warm, reddish golden grain vividly to life. Slender bronze mouldings frame the two drawer fronts, the canted corners and the top, whilst oval bronze handles with keyhole escutcheons add calm accents. Standing on four tapered legs with brass inlays, the body appears light and upright. At 83 cm wide, 43 cm deep and 80 cm high, this small chest of drawers fits narrow hallways, the bedroom or beside the sofa in the living room. Two deep drawers hold linen, letters or table textiles. Anyone looking for an antique 1800s chest of drawers that works as well in period apartments as amongst modern furniture will find a restored piece in excellent condition with a carefully maintained finish.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design.
