This Art Deco table lamp by Mazda from the 1930s features the typical chalice-shaped shade in white opal glass on a black lacquered, tapering stem. The socket and base plate are made of copper, polished to a red-gold finish, which sets a warm contrast against the deep black of the stem. The opal glass scatters the light upwards towards the ceiling, so the room is lit indirectly and softly, with no glare source in the field of view. A pull switch with a brass chain operates the lamp directly at the head. At 77 cm high, this 1930s table lamp is large enough to serve as a light source for the whole living space on a sideboard or chest of drawers. Beside an armchair it becomes a reading corner. The French Mazda lamps of this type are regarded as Art Deco classics and have become rare in this size and with undamaged opal glass.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design. Contact us for your individual requests, preferably directly via the chat at the bottom right.
