This 1930s Bauhaus cabinet is lacquered black and stands on a steel tube base, which gives it a clear, uncluttered appearance despite its height of 189 cm. The body is made of lacquered wood, the finish is closed and silky, without grain or structure, so the piece stands in the room as a calm black surface. The steel tube frames the lower edge and lifts the cabinet off the floor, which takes away the impression of heaviness. With a width of 130 cm and a depth of 55 cm, the cabinet offers storage for a complete wardrobe or for files and books in a study. Anyone living in an old building with high ceilings will find the right proportion in a 1930s cabinet of this size, as lower pieces look lost there. The piece has been restored and is in excellent condition, the black lacquer is even and free of chips, and the steel tube at the base is free of rust.

At Zeitwerk Home, we prioritise sustainability by applying traditional techniques and using natural materials, oils and resins. We pay particular attention to the environmental friendliness of our work, ensuring that no harmful substances are used. However, the most important aspect of our philosophy is that nothing is more sustainable than an object that lasts a lifetime. Our furniture is carefully restored and processed so that it endures for generations. With today’s booming throwaway mentality, we want nothing to do with it.

Whether modification or Newly Made – we are happy to adapt this piece of furniture entirely to your wishes for an additional fee. We can modify the product shown in terms of colour, dimensions or details, as well as implement a bespoke Newly Made version based on this design. Contact us for your individual requests, preferably directly via the chat at the bottom right.
