This 1950s Art Deco bar shows what a thorough restoration can make of a discarded piece of furniture. The semicircular front in rich burgundy is divided into three horizontal panels, separated by trim strips of polished aluminium and stainless steel. In place of the original faux leather covering, the front now carries acrylic glass with precisely placed metal strips, giving the surface a clear, robust quality. Newly lacquered Resopal forms the work surface.
At 212 cm wide and 144 cm high, this 1950s home bar is designed to stand freely. A wine rack and a wine cooler have been integrated inside, so the piece is fully usable as a functional bar. The chrome-plated railing along the top edge, carried by slender metal supports, is characteristic of bar architecture of that decade.
As an Art Deco bar in excellent condition, it suits spacious living rooms, loft apartments or commercial spaces. The character of the German original has been preserved, and the fittings have been fully renewed for contemporary use.
