The writing surface carries a red leather inlay with gold tooling, framed by a bronze moulding running all around. Four fluted, tapering legs of solid wood with inlaid bronze rods and bronze sabots give the piece its upright, neoclassical bearing. The apron houses two drawers with bronze framing and locks, flanked by reeded pilasters. Measuring 110 cm wide, 65 cm deep and 75 cm high, the antique desk offers enough surface for a laptop and correspondence without dominating the room. In the study of a period apartment this Louis Seize desk fits in just as well as it does as an accent in a modern living room.
