The grain stays visible under the clear lacquer and runs through the full length of the stem, giving the table lamp a warm, light presence. Fitting, intermediate plate and base ring are chrome-plated metal and set a cool accent against the wood. The pull switch on its chain hangs directly beneath the glass chalice. The opal glass throws the light upwards against the ceiling, producing soft indirect lighting that nobody looks into. At 77 cm high with a shade diameter of 26 cm, one of these vintage table lamps is enough to light a seating corner or a sideboard. In period flats with high ceilings the upward light comes into its own.
