Articulated arm, stem and reflector are made of bare aluminium and steel, whose metallic sheen openly reveals the technical origins of the design. The bell shaped shade sits at the end of a two part arm, balanced by springs, which holds any position without readjustment. A slender round stem rises from a cross shaped base on four castors, so the Anglepoise lamp can be moved with ease. At 170 cm high and 50 cm deep, it directs focused light onto a reading chair, desk or drawing table without taking up much floor space. In the living room of a period apartment, the Bauhaus floor lamp looks just as coherent as in a study or studio with a modern interior. The base is executed as a sphere of milk glass, separated from the stem by a brass ring. At the top sits a conical shade made of red fabric, the so-called pagode, which extends far upwards and sets a striking colour accent in the room.

The milk glass of the base has an organically rounded shape that appears calm in its white opacity and optically contrasts with the red shade. With a total height of 143 cm, this 1960s floor lamp is designed as a dominant light source. It is illuminated indirectly through the glass base and downwards through the shade, creating a soft light character.

The vintage floor lamp unfolds its effect best in the living room of an old apartment or in a high-ceilinged room with parquet flooring. Model 6193, available here as a pair, was produced from 1978 onwards. The glass base is crafted from matte opal glass in a bulbous bottle shape with a tapered neck and an internal light source. It features a three-light configuration: the glass body is illuminated from within by one light, while two further light sources sit beneath the fabric pagoda shade. This separation allows for two distinct lighting moods to be created. The matte opal glass diffuses the light evenly without harsh contrasts. With a total height of 70.5 cm including the shade, this opal glass table lamp fits well on chests of drawers, sideboards and occasional tables. As a pair, both lamps create a symmetrical arrangement that works in the bedroom as well as in the living room. The Glashütte Limburg table lamp represents a design language that prioritises material quality and functionality. The design was awarded the iF Design Award in 1978, confirming its status within German post-war design history.

This Mid-Century arc lamp from the 1960s displays the typical construction of floor lamps from that era: a curved metal shaft made of chrome-plated steel, which extends far over a seating area or table. The shade is designed as a flat hemisphere in white plastic and directed downwards. Standing on a round, grey-painted steel base, the frame provides stable support. Along an even curve, the arc of the shaft leads upwards and ends with the shade at a working height that delivers direct light downwards. The total height of 165 cm and a shade diameter of 40 cm define a clearly delimited cone of light. The chrome-plated arc lamp occupies barely any floor space when standing, as the weight rests on the base and the arc spans across the room. As reading light over an armchair or as a supplementary light source in the living room, this 1960s floor lamp from German production is well suited for use. In an interior with Mid-Century furniture, the piece fits in formally; in modern interiors, the vintage arc lamp sets a contrasting accent. No manufacturer proof available. The black lacquered wooden shaft tapers slightly towards the top, structured by chrome-plated metal rings and slender transition pieces. At the top sits a wide, flared opal glass shade that diffuses the light softly. At the base, a circular chrome-plated metal foot keeps the slender construction in balance.

At 190 cm in height and with a shade diameter of 36 cm, this 1930s floor lamp has enough presence for high rooms without being intrusive. The shade is lacquered a deep black with a high gloss, and the light is gathered within it and thrown downwards without glare. Arm and base are made of chrome-plated steel, and the grip on the arm is finished in black, so the lamp can be adjusted even while switched on. The ball joint at the base allows the cone of light to be swivelled across the full width of the desk. At 48 cm high with a shade diameter of 30 cm, the desk lamp is designed for a workplace where people read and write, not for decorative mood lighting. The socket and base plate are made of copper, polished to a red-gold finish, which sets a warm contrast against the deep black of the stem. The opal glass scatters the light upwards towards the ceiling, so the room is lit indirectly and softly, with no glare source in the field of view. A pull switch with a brass chain operates the lamp directly at the head. At 77 cm high, this 1930s table lamp is large enough to serve as a light source for the whole living space on a sideboard or chest of drawers. Beside an armchair it becomes a reading corner.
